On 14th November, 1914, the 2nd Scots Guards of 20th Brigade, 7th Division moved into the front line near La Cordonnière Farm at Rue-du Bois just to the south of Fleurbaix where they remained until relieved on 22nd November. James Battersby was killed on 18th November but the battalion diary provides no information concerning his death |
